Indigenous Community of Kavac

The indigenous community of Kavac is another of the Pemón communities located in Canaima National Park, in the state of Bolívar, Venezuela. Situated in one of the most spectacular areas of the park, Kavac is known for its proximity to the majestic tepuis and for being a gateway to explore the rich biodiversity of the region, including its famous waterfalls and canyons. 💡 Fun Facts The inhabitants of Kavac are mostly of the Pemón ethnicity, an indigenous people known for their deep knowledge of the natural environment and their rich cultural heritage. The Pemón of Kavac have maintained many of their ancestral traditions, including the use of the Pemón language, as well as cultural practices such as the narration of myths and legends, the creation of handicrafts, and the celebration of rituals and festivities. The community is organized around sustainable subsistence practices, such as hunting, fishing, subsistence farming, and fruit gathering.
